According to a statement from the Dubai Media Office, the goal of launching driving test appointments via WhatsApp is to simplify customers’ access to RTA services.
Users can now easily schedule their driving tests and make payments directly through the RTA’s Mahboub Chatbot, eliminating the need for the official application or visiting the RTA’s website. Mira Ahmed Al Sheikh, the Director of the Smart Services Department at RTA’s Corporate Technical Support Services Sector, emphasized the convenience of the new services.
The interactive service allows users to schedule driving test appointments and pay associated fees using the pre-authenticated system. Mahboub, available in both Arabic and English, handles customer queries related to RTA information, procedures, and interactive services. The chatbot employs continuous learning capabilities, improving its ability to respond accurately based on previous conversations.
Efforts are underway to enhance the chatbot’s generative artificial intelligence techniques, making it better at understanding natural human languages and providing responses that resemble human interactions. Stringent data privacy protection measures have been implemented to ensure the security of digital advancements. The RTA is also working on introducing digital identity in the customer journey to enhance the overall experience and provide faster, more secure access to services.
Mahboub, available on WhatsApp, offers over 250 informational and procedural services, including paying public parking fees, checking vehicle ownership renewal, and accessing nol card services, marine transportation services, and more. This initiative aligns with the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, reflecting the RTA’s commitment to using AI technologies and aiming to position the UAE as a global leader in AI by 2031.
